Andy J. Funk believes that businesses can and should make significant contributions to people, society or the environment. As an accomplished entrepreneur turned venture capitalist, Andy embodies the Funk Ventures philosophy by expertly combining his passion for business and investing with an altruistic vision to impact the world for good.

An entrepreneur since age 18, Andy is no stranger to the intricacies of business. His diverse accomplishments prior to age 24 include the successful establishment and sale of three pioneering companies:

    • Founder and CEO of Microdyme (acquired by iBoost)
    • Founder and CEO of Helping.org (acquired by America Online)
    • Co-founder of Daily F1 (acquired by Total F1)

As the youngest founding member of a venture capital firm in the United States, Andy established Funk Ventures and has since been actively involved in the funding, development and sale of more than a dozen companies.

Most recently, Andy authored the chapter "Investing Today for a Better Tomorrow" in the book "VC: Best Practices." A frequent panelist and presenter, he has spoken before the MIT Enterprise Forum, PWC MoneyTree Survey and various other industry forums and conferences. Andy has been featured on Forbes Radio, the Wall Street Journal, Financier Worldwide, the Los Angeles Business Journal and other notable publications.

A philanthropist since founding Helping.org, Andy continues to enthusiastically support organizations whose philosophies closely align with his philanthropic ideals. He resides with his wife Kristi M. Funk, a renowned breast cancer surgeon, in Santa Monica, California.
